Hell For Heroes: Out to fuck up Rememberance Day

A so-called “sincere Muslim” group in the UK had planned to tarnish Rememberance Day this year, by protesting in the UK with “Hell for Heroes” placards.

The Muslims Against Crusades protesters, who actually managed to get permission from police to hold the rally, planned to yell and chant hatred deliberately to disrupt the minute’s silence held in honour of the war dead.

‘It will involve a protest and not observing the minute’s silence. We had a significant amount of support from Muslims around the world last year.” cleric Anjem Choudary said on October 30th.

But why? What problem do they have with soldiers dying to protect the very democracy they fled their nation to live in?

‘It’s one thing to remember the dead from the First World War and subsequent wars, but it’s quite another when they say we need to remember the dead from Afghanistan and Iraq. It’s become political football and if they are going to use Remembrance Day for that purpose, it’s only right that we have a counter protest, which we say is for Muslims. The Army is currently at war with Muslims in Muslim countries.”

Fortunately for Britain, Home Secretary Theresa May announced Thursday after midnight that the organisation would be banned, and that anyone supporting the group, which has run under other names such as Islam4UK and The Saved Sect, could be charged. This has led to the group being dissolved, and their protest cancelled.

However, it has not led to any decrease in their twisted egos, as a statement from Muslim Against Crusades called May’s announcement “a great victory for Islam and Muslims”. Optimistic in defeat? M.A.C. argued that the British government was now “exposed”, so the objective of the demonstration “has therefore been achieved.”

“[The annoucement] highlights the sheer hatred the British government has towards sincere Muslims who wish to peacefully speak out against policies that are (from every angle) anti-Islam and anti-Muslim. [Plans for the protest] undoubtedly struck a raw nerve in Parliament,” with the Muslim group also claiming it meant that “The ugly of side of democracy: dictatorship, once again reared its ugly head.”

Their hatred fails to recognise a fundamental flaw with this argument, that they, too, seemingly hate democracy and want to force Islamic law upon the free people of the world, and condemn to death all who oppose Islam. If ever someone had no right to cry for “democracy”, it is these guys.

This is not the first time Muslims Against Crusades have protested or disrupted the Rememberance Day ceremony, either. Last year they caused widespread outrage by burning large-scale versions of poppies and yelling during the minute of silence in London.

your piece is based on so much flimsy rhetoric and faulty logic. Do we think that protesting the death of hundreds of thousands – Arghanistan and Iraq – particularly when the latter was based on actual falsehoods perpetrated by our leaders, is somehow a hatred OF democracy? And have these Muslims really ‘fled’ their countries? Are all the brits who leave England because of financial difficulty or even just bad weather, ‘fleeing’ and therefore have no say in the UK anynmore?

Journalism has gone to the dogs!
